Uganda Mission Trip Update

ugandaMonday we had team to fly out to do a medical and evangelistic mission in Uganda at Good Shepherd Fold Orphanage (GSF). GSF is run by two of our missionaries, Bob and Carolyn Jacobsen.

I received the following email from Steve Kimmel early Sunday Morning. The Lord is blessing the team’s time at GSF.

Will Dungee

We had wonderful welcome when we arrived, with the children singing and greeting us which brought us to tears. Our first day of clinic went really well we saw all of the GSF staff and kids during this. Bill and others had an evangelism tent where several people met Jesus. We have treated patients for malaria and have done a few minor surgeries. Young Life clubs are going really well, we even had a surgery performed in the back of the room during club last night. The teenagers are laughing, dancing, and hearing the Word. Three of our team had brief illnesses upon arrival, but are now doing very well. Bill is getting ready to preach this morning and Daniel (Bill’s son) is leading worship.

Please pray for us, our three hardest days are coming up Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday when we will be holding all day clinics for the surrounding villages. Bob and Carolyn are being wonderful hosts and are really enjoying having their home church here. We visited three hospitals in Jinja yesterday, two children’s hospitals and one adult hospital, they were indescribable and heart breaking. We had the opportunity to lay hands on and pray for many patients. Please be praying for us, that we would be God’s hands and feet.
