A Word from the Teaching Pastor, 11/30/2008

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope you have been as helped and encouraged by the book of James as I have. The Lord has a great way of giving us just what we need, when we need it. The key for me has been learning to receive. We want to provide a way to help each of you grow in your relationship with Christ. The Adult Education Team has several classes you may want to know about.

A new Sunday School class is starting on Dec. 14th in the Eagle’s Nest at 9:25 a.m. Fil Anderson will be teaching a class called “Simply Enough: Alternative for Simple Living.” The class will include video clips by Tony Campolo and Shane Claiborne. Each segment provides an intensely personal dialogue between these two about the biblical foundations of the Christian life and voluntary simplicity. The topics are: lifestyle, food, celebrations, stuff, money and justice.

The Apologetics Class taught by Kathy Vohs meets at 9:25 a.m. in Room 205. They are studying the “Twelve Points That Say Christianity Is True” and are currently looking at the truth of miracles.

The Relational Evangelism Class also meets at 9:25 a.m. in Room 204. Have you ever wanted the people in your world to know Jesus, but just felt like it was too weird or awkward to bring it up? Join Marshall Benbow and discover how to share your faith in a way that is natural and non-threatening.

I hope you’ll take advantage of these opportunities and receive the gift of one of these classes. I do pray this week will be a time of loving your neighbor as yourself.

In Jesus,
Bill
